Songlist

Dance Format is the best dance songs from the 70’s through to the current top 40. Our clients that choose this format want to party. It is characterized by driving rhythm sections layered with our funky horn section keen to set the pace on the dance floor.

You’ve got to see our horn players dance!!. Like a DJ, the songs are all mixed keeping the dance floor pumping. This is typically a 5-8 piece lineup with female vocal, male vocal/guitar, bass, keys, drums, and a two or three piece horn section.

Often event managers will co-ordinate this format for after dinner and use the Jazz Format over dinner or earlier in the night.

Typical repertoire for this style includes:
Lets Get this Party Started (Black Eyed Peas)
Hot & Cold (Katie Perry)
Crazy in Love (Beyonce)
September (Earth Wind & Fire)
Superstition (Stevie Wonder)
Billie Jean (Michael Jackson)

The typical line up for this is a 4 to 5 piece with Female Vocals, Male Vocals/Guitar, Bass, Keys and Drums. We are always adding new tunes to this format!

Note we can include sets in the Dance Format from this package. Ideal for audiences under 30.

There are DJ's and there are DJ's!! As musicians we know the best DJ's not the cheesy DJ's from Uncles Rob's Place (no offence Uncle Rob). You probably want the latest Lady GaGa mixed maybe with some tunes for the oldies. The Smooth Groove have a funky team of DJ's in their 20's that are experienced in knowing the right mix for any age crowd. Our DJ's come with a full range of sound and lighting options including wireless mics for speeches and a range of lasers and LED or moving light options with hazers and all sorts of great gear and song choices.
